Our Small Energy Saving Adaptations project provides practical items to help people stay warm, reduce their energy use and feel more comfortable at home.
How we may be able to help
From simple changes such as energy-saving lightbulbs and radiator foil to heated throws and energy-efficient cooking appliances, the items we provide are chosen to offer practical, cost-effective support. Small adaptations can make an immediate difference to someone’s comfort and household costs while helping them to continue living independently at home.
The items provided will depend on the person’s individual circumstances and what is likely to make the greatest difference to them.
What we may be able to provide
Depending on the person’s circumstances, items may include:
- Energy-saving lightbulbs
- Clothes airers
- Radiator foil
- Blankets
- Oversized hoodies
- Heated throws
- Thermal drink flasks
- Air fryers
- Oil-filled room heaters
- Electric blankets
Making a referral
We accept referrals from professionals and partner organisations who are supporting someone who could benefit from warming or energy-efficient items.
Every referral is considered individually so that we can understand the person’s circumstances and identify the items that are likely to provide the greatest benefit. We can only help Dorset Council residents who receive benefits.
If you’re unsure whether someone may be eligible for support, please get in touch with our team before making a referral and we’ll be happy to talk through their circumstances. We cannot receive referrals from the general public.
