Course Description

This training introduces accessible and inclusive volunteering, helping organisations understand the barriers people may face and how small, practical adjustments can open volunteering to a wider range of individuals. It focuses on strengths based, flexible approaches that benefit both volunteers and organisations by building confidence, inclusion, and sustainable involvement.

• Who might not find it easy to access volunteering
• What can get in the way of volunteering
• Why accessibility matters
• Common concerns for organisations
• What experience shows us
• Simple, effective adjustments
• Fresh perspectives and how to start

There will be a group(s) task to look at some volunteer case studies to help put accessible volunteering thinking and adjustments into action. There will also be time to discuss any volunteer roles that you are currently trying to recruit for that may benefit from being more accessible.

Who Should Attend?

This training is suitable for any organisations or groups that work with volunteers and want practical, confidence building guidance on removing barriers, adapting roles, and creating welcoming pathways that benefit both volunteers and the organisation.
