Course Description
An organisation that has clear strategic direction and a board that takes effective oversight of its progress is very often one that becomes more attractive to funders and other stakeholders.
What will you get out of this session?
• Understanding of how the Good Governance Code (2025) can guide you to raise your game as a board.
• A clear understanding of the requirements on you as a trustee.
• An appreciation of how valuable your prior knowledge skills and experience are – whether gained as a volunteer, in work or as life skills
• Practical skills in decision-making, managing risk, furthering your organisational aims and creative a positive and inclusive culture.
• A plan for maintaining and improving your governance as an individual and as part of a group.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who is a trustee of a charity or community group or who is thinking of becoming one.
How to Book
To access these courses free of charge, bookings must be made through Volunteer Centre Dorset. Please do not register for the courses directly with the training provider, as a charge may apply.
