Dorset’s Independent Custody Visiting Scheme is looking for new volunteers to make unannounced visits to police custody suites, helping to ensure detainees are treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Volunteers work in pairs, receive training and support, and play an important role in building public confidence in policing.

The scheme is particularly keen to hear from people in West Dorset, and fuel expenses are covered.
