Love Dogs West Dorset and the Environment is a small, friendly non-profit community group based in Weymouth, Dorset. They’re passionate about promoting responsible dog ownership and caring for our beautiful local environment. They’re looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join their enthusiastic team and help keep the group financially healthy and organised. The Treasurer works closely with the Chair and other Trustees to support decision-making and long-term sustainability.

Your tasks will include:

• Keeping clear and accurate financial records using simple Excel spreadsheets.
• Looking after our small cash account, banking and day-to-day bookkeeping.
• Helping to manage payments, bills and other financial transactions.
• Preparing straightforward financial updates to share at committee meetings.
• Supporting the committee in managing the group’s finances responsibly and meeting relevant financial requirements.
• Helping to prepare annual accounts and liaising with an independent examiner or auditor, where required.
• Supporting local grant applications by providing financial information and helping with project budgets.
• Attending committee meetings, sharing your ideas and contributing to plans for community events that encourage responsible dog ownership and care for the environment.

You won’t be expected to make financial decisions on your own. You’ll work with the committee to help everyone understand the group’s financial position and make decisions together.
